Student Survey Response Forms, 1933–1933

1933

This series is comprised of forms, bearing the printed date May 23, 1933, on which students responded to a series of questions designed to help in determining whether the school should be retained or abolished. In addition to name, age, tribe, home town, degree of Indian blood, father's employment and family income, students responded to such wide-ranging questions as "If Chemawa is closed where will you go to school?"; "Do you have any source of personal income?"; "What is the highest grade taught in your home school?"; "Do your parents have a permanent home where they live?"; and "How do you plan to earn your living when you graduate?" The Salem Indian School was also known as the Chemawa Indian School.
